What is the redemption fee on my invoice?

After a domain expires, it enters a period called a Redemption Grace Period.

A domain name can be renewed during the redemption grace period, however an extra fee is charged to retrieve the domain. If you have received an invoice that contains a "redemption fee" on it, this means that your domain name expired and was renewed after expiring. You will be charged a redemption fee to cover the costs Discount Domains incurs for renewing expired domain names.

An email advising expiry of the domain and warning emails to renew before expiry are sent regularly, this fee cannot be waived.
