How do I setup auto-renew for my domain name payments?
Posted by Rowena Barrett on 04 November 2019 01:46 PM

Auto-renew has standard timings when attempting to take payment for expiring domains. These are:

1st attempt: at thirty (30) days prior to expiry date

2nd attempt: at fifteen (15) days prior to expiry date

You will always receive a confirmation email when the auto-renew process has been attempted, showing you whether the payment was successful or not. Your My Domains page will show the new expiry date as soon as a domain name is renewed.

If you do continue to receive reminders and your domain name has less than 15 days remaining before it expires, please log into your customer portal https://secure.discountdomains.co.nz/login

  1. Select [My Domains] from the left-hand menu.
  2. You will see all the domain names.
  3. Select the domains you want to renew by selecting the checkbox.
  4. Select [Renew Selected Domains] just above the active domains list.
  5. Select the ‘Term’ you want to renew the domains for and Place Order.
  6. A final order screen will be presented to you with tax information, if you agree to all the information presented then select the checkbox to agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  7. Select the preferred mode of payment from credit card/direct credit and initiate payment.
  8. You will receive an invoice after the service details are updated post purchase.

Note: If you set a domain to auto-renew, and have less than 30 days until expiry, the Discount Domains auto-renew system will attempt to take payment from your stored card within 24 hours.
