Registering Domain Name Servers (DNS)
Posted by Rowena Barrett on 04 November 2019 04:40 PM

Registering name servers makes them available for lookup by anyone on the Internet.

If name servers are not registered then no one outside your network will know they exist and our registrar will not let you point domain names to them.

To register a domain name simply email support@discountdomains.co.nz with the following information:

        The new name e.g. ns1.discountdomains.co.nz

The IP address of the new name server e.g. 203.167.250.12

Once this request is received, DiscountDomains will register this name server on your behalf.

To ascertain if your DNS is already registered, simply click on this link, select the "NameServer" query, and hit submit.

This will return the results of the whois query e.g.

   Server Name: NS1.DISCOUNTDOMAINS.CO.NZ

    Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, LLC.

    Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com

    Referral URL: http://www.networksolutions.com
