Can I host a website when the Domain is hosted elsewhere?

Yes.

You will need to point the MXA or CNAME records in the DNS to our web server and set up a website for the domain name to point to.

We advise using Domain addresses when setting up remote DNS services.

The reason is that it allows portability should we ever need to change our IP addresses.

Our MX, A and CNAME records:

Mail (MX):
  Priority 10 = mx1.webhost.co.nz
Priority 20 = mx2.webhost.co.nz
Priority 30 = mx3.webhost.co.nz
Priority 40 = mx4.webhost.co.nz

Web (CNAME):
PHP 4 web.mydns.net.nz
PHP 5 php5.mydns.net.nz
Windows server 1 win.mydns.net.nz
Windows server 2 win2.mydns.net.nz
Windows server 3 win3.mydns.net.nz

Web (A):
PHP 4 119.47.114.164
PHP 5 119.47.114.165
Windows server 1 119.47.114.166
Windows server 2 119.47.114.167
Windows server 3 119.47.114.168
