How do I set up a wildcard email address?

To setup a wildcard email alias or email address please follow the instructions below.

 

Step 1. Click Here to go to Control Panel and log into you account using your Username and Password

 

Step 2: From the left side of the page click Email under the Services tab.

 

Step 3: Look for your domain and then click on Email icon in front of it.

 

Step 4: A wildcard email address, is a special type of email alias. To add click on Add Email Address..

 

Step 5: Leave the Email textbox empty, Uncheck Add mailbox option and Enter desired email adress in destination textbox. This will setup an wildcard email alias.

 

Step 6 (optional): Spam settings for the email alias can be set as well, by clicking on the Spam tab. You can either choose to have the email forward use its Domain's spam settings (the default) or define settings for the email alias itself, by unchecking the Use domain spam settings checkbox. The threshold value is the spam score that must be exceeded before the Spam Action is performed; the more likely an email is to be spam, the higher its spam score. Setting the Threshold value higher means less email will be marked as spam.

Any email deemed to be spam, that is going to leave our network, will be deleted.

 

 Step 7: After all the setting are done click Add button to create wildcard email alias.

 

 

Note: Please be aware that wildcard emails usually cause an increase in spam, because any address at your domain will receive email. It is not recommended that you set one up, instead you should only set up the addresses that you plan to use.
