What is PHP?
Posted by Diego Cousinet on 25 February 2011 09:28 AM

PHP (PHP Hypertext Preprocessor) is a server-side language and set of enhancements that can be coded in to web pages to make them dynamic. For example, a web page created in PHP may get data from a database and display it online, or change its contents based on time of day, where a user is located, or the data a user inputs.

It is parsed in real-time and requires PHP extensions to be installed on the computer serving the web files
