Why do I get the PHP session error?
Posted by Diego Cousinet on 28 February 2011 08:39 AM

This document is intended for customers who have a PHP site and they are receiving the following error:

Fatal error: session_start() function.session-start]: Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: /import/share_rw/tmp/) in ....

If you are gettting the following "Session error" on your website, then please add the following to your .htaccess file:

php_value auto_prepend_file /directory_path/blank.php

Note: You will need to create a blank.php file in the directory where your .htaccess file is. Also, it is important the you put the absolute path for the blank.php file in the above .htaccess statement.
